My love letter to the Pioneer Woman

Ree-Drummond.jpg (750×498)

This is Ree Drummond, The Pioneer Woman.  Most people are have heard of her from social media, her website http://thepioneerwoman.com/, and her show on The Food Network, http://www.foodnetwork.com/the-pioneer-woman/index.html.  Her show has that same aura as The Barefoot Contessa, and I love watching both on slow days when the girls are both napping and I need something calm and quiet to soothe my brain. She's been around for a while, but I've only recently discovered her, and her recipes are HUGE crowd-pleasers around the Casa.  Not only are her recipes accessible to the average home, but they are delicious and flexible. (Meaning that you can work with what you have and still have a delicious meal.)

Now, if I could only figure out how she has the time to raise her kids, maintain her home, and run a food empire, the Casa might be a more productive place.  Here's the most recent recipe I've used and loved.

I chose to write about her because I think it's important to learn a variety of recipes that include fresh, frozen, and even canned foods.  Here is a list of websites that I use several times a week.
